Our Dogs

Our dogs are trained to do different things. Here are a few and what they do or are learning to do.

**All dogs on this page are not available unless marked otherwise.**

This is Sophie. She is in training to take over Lily's job. She will learn to respond to her handler's condition. She is showing some promise in the area of alerting to that condition which is something she must learn to do on her own. She will also learn to provide balance support. She will be able to help her handler up if she needs it. She will also learn to pick things up and much more. Sophie has recently been diagnosed with elbow dysplasia and will need surgery in the near future. Because of her current health she doesn't work in public much right now.

This is Gretal. Gretal is harlequin a great dane. She is a medical service dog that assists her handle with a medical condition.

*RETIRED*

This is Lily. Lily is a medical alert service dog. She helps her handler by alerting to changes in her condition. She also will provide minor balance support with a harness. She has learned to pick items up for her handler. Unfortunately Lily was attacked by a dog in Dec. 2007 and hasn't been the same since. She has retired to help occasionally at home and another dog is training to take over her job. She is going to stay in her current home well beyond her retirement.

This is Curly. He is a 3 year old giant Schnoodle (standard poodle/giant schnauzer mix). He is a recent addition and rescue. He will be beginning his training soon. We aren't sure exactly what his calling will be but we will find out soon. He is a joy to have around and loves attention.

UPDATE: Curly was adopted as an ESA.
After settling in, he turned out not to be well-suited for public access work. He is too obsessed with cats and overly excitable when meeting new people. He is working on his obedience to be a better companion.

This is Cody. He is an australian shepherd mix.
He is learning how to be a hearing dog.

This is Cody Maverick. Cody is possibly a newfoundland/border collie mix. Cody had started training as a Psychiatric Service Dog but the person was unable to afford him. He is now with a wonderful family and they are working on training him to assist their disabled child.
