Foster a Dog
Consider fostering a puppy or dog. Foster home help prepare the dogs for service work. Foster homes work on housebreaking, socialization, basic obedience, and discourage undesirable behaviors. The dogs are returned for service training when they are old enough and ready to learn their new jobs.
Due to current regulations regarding animal adoption under the MDAR we cannot accept donations of dogs for placement in Massachusetts. A dog can be donated directly to a recipient and we will assist in training said dog if it is a suitable candidate. We can also help individuals select their own dog from any source provided they adopt the dog directly from said source. We are working on our own breeding program as a result of the current laws. Dogs from our breeding program are trained and adopted to the recipient directly from our private breeder. Please note our breeder will only breeds a maximum of 2 litters per year so there will be a limited availablity for already trained dogs.
Once we obtain 501c3 and can meet the regulations of a pet store as required of all rescues adopting in and to Ma, we will be able to accept dogs outside our breeding program into our training program to match with individuals.
The written regulations from the MDAR state a rescue that solicits or accepts funds defined as charitable contributions must be properly registered with the office of attorney general. The MDAR has decided that all rescues must be 501c3 in addition though there is no official rule.
